Route description

The walk starts at Ġnejna Bay and follows coastal paths northwards towards the headland and the area overlooking Qarraba Bay. From here, the route continues across open terrain and scenic coastal sections, passing viewpoints and photo stops with wide views over the sea and surrounding bays. The walk then heads towards Għajn Tuffieħa Bay and the Riviera area, following a combination of coastal paths and inland tracks. After reaching the upper section of the route, the trail loops back through open countryside and returns towards Ġnejna Bay, with optional shortcuts and longer sections available along the way. The total distance of the walk is approximately four kilometres, depending on the route variation taken.

Practical advice

This route includes uneven ground, rocky coastal paths and exposed cliffside sections, so careful footing is needed throughout. Some parts of the trail may be rough, steep or require extra caution, especially near viewpoints, coastal edges and marked caution areas. The route offers little shade in many sections, so drinking water, sun protection and suitable footwear are essential. Walkers should remain on established paths and avoid unstable edges or restricted areas. Due to the exposed terrain and changing path conditions, this walk is best suited for confident walkers and should be avoided in poor weather or strong winds.
