Keep in mind
Keep your belongings secure and carry a small first aid kit. Always bring enough drinking water and be mindful of the sun, especially during summer, as there is little to no shade along the walks.
Check the weather before starting your walk. Choose a walk that suits your ability and stop if it becomes too challenging.
Route description
The walk starts near the Għadira area and follows roads and paths northwards into the L-Aħrax countryside. From here, the route continues along the eastern coastline, passing open views over the sea before reaching the area near Coral Lagoon. The walk then follows the coastal edge and nearby tracks around the northern part of the peninsula, passing viewpoints and photo spots along the way. After this section, the route turns inland and continues through rural roads and tracks near Ramla and the surrounding countryside before gradually returning south towards the starting point near Għadira. The total distance of the walk is approximately ten kilometres.
Practical advice
This route includes a combination of rural roads, uneven paths and exposed coastal sections, so suitable footwear is recommended throughout. The area offers little shade, especially along the coastal and open countryside sections, making drinking water and sun protection essential. Some parts of the route pass close to rocky edges and uneven ground, and extra care should be taken near viewpoints and cliffside areas. Walkers should remain on established paths and take note that some alternate sections may be inaccessible or unsuitable depending on conditions. Due to the length of the walk and the exposed terrain, this route is best suited for walkers with a good level of fitness.
