Bag the Butt Challenge
Are you passionate about the environment and willing to do your part to help minimise nurdle pollution? Organise a group of friends, family, neighbours or complete strangers and take part in this simple yet effective challenge. You can also do this alone! Register on the Bluetide platform and collect a jar of cigarette butts from any sandy beach in Malta. Use gloves to slowly uncover layers of sand and collect butts. Make sure to take photos of your efforts!

Why are cigarette butts harmful?
Cigarette butts are the most commonly littered item on beaches and can take years to break down. They release toxic chemicals into the sand and sea, where they can harm marine life if ingested. Always dispose of cigarette butts responsibly to help keep our beaches and oceans clean.
