Nurdles

Nurdles are small plastic pellets, about the size of a lentil, that serve as the raw material for manufacturing most plastic products. They are transported around the world before being melted and moulded into everyday items. When spilled during production or transport, nurdles can end up in rivers and oceans, where they persist for decades, are easily mistaken for food by wildlife, and can absorb harmful pollutants, making them a significant source of marine plastic pollution.
